I believe our bodies can heal themselves.
I believe that surgeries and drugs should be a last resort and not a first step.
I believe you cannot separate mental, emotional, and physical symptoms.
I believe that if you want to be healthy and you want to feel and live well, you need a commitment to yourself and a strong partnership with a provider who cares about you and wants you to be well.
As a 15-year-old, I found myself sitting on the sterile crinkly doctor’s office paper, where I was told I would have to take this thyroid drug FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.
I hated it. It made me feel weak. It made me feel mortal (at 15!!).
It made me feel dependent on a system that I didn’t love and I didn’t feel ever HEALED anyone. I was a high-level gymnast and I was in pain almost daily. I now had two diagnoses which were “chronic” or lifelong.
Around the same time, I had a friend with a severe eating disorder and something she said to me resonated deeply, she said “I’m better when we hang out.” Somehow, I helped her.
I knew that I wanted to help other people as a career. I wanted to feel better and live better, and I wanted to figure out how to help others do the same. I wanted to give people hope and encouragement, not labels and criticisms.
Fast forward ten years and I found myself in physician assistant school, studying the same system that had let me down and made me feel broken. I didn’t believe in it fully, but it was the “legitimate” road to healing in our country.
Fortunately, my first job out of school was with an MD that placed huge value on RELATIONSHIP and had been using HOMEOPATHY with his patients for twenty plus years.
Fifteen years since the start of my PA training, I have learned a lot about people and healing. Sometimes the drugs and surgeries do work, and sometimes that is the best next step based on where you find yourself.
However, should that be our best first step?
You both need to regularly evaluate what is working in your life and what isn’t.
Your provider needs to be someone who sees you from a different light and can help to guide you on a path to being your best and healthiest self.
Homeopathy is a tool I use and I find it works quite well even when other modalities fail, but the remedy is just the beginning of the healing process.
The relationship that we create is a place where we can get to the root cause of what is ailing you.
Our regular appointments give me a big picture look at what course your health is on and from there I can help you adjust early on and alter that course for the better.
Start with nature. Feel better. Live better.
